Which cover do you like?

covers

Since I can’t afford to get someone professionally design the book cover for me, I took on the task to do it myself! Not bad, huh? I just love Apple so much, I don’t have photoshop, but with Keynote I could design passable covers myself/

I’m still undecided about the pen name I’m gonna use, that’s why I used “author name” on my dummy covers. I’m seriously considering the name Nicky Honore. Nicky is a variation of my real name, and it is unisex, which is good. I don’t guys to skip it right away once they see a girl name, and girls will still think I can write a good love story.

Honore has my late grandfather’s first name Hon in it, so I see it as a partial Anglicization. Meaning-wise, I consider myself a very honourable person, so it’s not completely random. I also like how it flows when it is pronounced. No offence to French speakers, but I like how it sounds better when it is read “on-or-ay”. 🙂

About Nicky

Nicky English is a journalist, an educator, a podcaster, a couch potato, a dreamer, and a child at heart. Learning is her passion, so is the English language, which she believes is the tool to unlock the door of knowledge. Born in Hong Kong, she received intensive writing training at The University of Iowa, where she double-majored in journalism and political science. Apart from the Hawkeye State, she’s lived in Chicago and Philadelphia. When she was a guest student at Georgetown University, she fell in love with Washington, D.C. She also has a Master of Arts in Communication. A little side note—she cannot imagine a world without her Mac and iDevices. Like many crazy ones, she hopes to change the world one day at a time.
