Colors used throughout Florid Eyes

It’s time to drop some Easter eggs while I’m pending to get my first proof from my editor.

1. florid: the color of blood; vampires’ eye color when they are vamped up
2. violet: purple (I picked this name because I like Scarlett from Gone with the Wind, which means red)
3. Violet’s eye color: brown
4. Josh’s natural eye color: sapphire blue, a darker shade of blue
5. Josh’s alias Jason LeBlanc: blanc means white in French
6. Jason LeBlanc goes to: Brown University
7. Arnold’s natural eye color: grey
8. Leo’s eye color: hazel
9. Thomas’ natural eye color: blue, he has a “Nordic look”
10. Marcus eye color: green
11. Arnold’s car: always black
12. Josh’s Land Rover: red
13. Violet’s dress on Thanksgiving: white

These are the deliberate incorporations of color on my part. Of course there are also some unintended use.

About Nicky

Nicky English is a journalist, an educator, a podcaster, a couch potato, a dreamer, and a child at heart. Learning is her passion, so is the English language, which she believes is the tool to unlock the door of knowledge. Born in Hong Kong, she received intensive writing training at The University of Iowa, where she double-majored in journalism and political science. Apart from the Hawkeye State, she’s lived in Chicago and Philadelphia. When she was a guest student at Georgetown University, she fell in love with Washington, D.C. She also has a Master of Arts in Communication. A little side note—she cannot imagine a world without her Mac and iDevices. Like many crazy ones, she hopes to change the world one day at a time.
